A little background ...
This series of books started with a word: Seaborn. I was driving into my local town one early morning in 2024, an open road with a wonderful view of the sea. On that day it had a veil of mist creeping across it, which I thought particularly effecting, and the word seemed to simply pop into my head. Immediately I thought it would be a fantastic title for a fantasy book, and because it had an elemental sound to it I proceeded to think about three other words to compliment it, these being of course Earthbound, Skyburn and Firebane. At that time I didn't consider myself a fantasy author, so I shelved them in that special place in my brain where I store all my 'interesting but impossible' ideas. But fast forward a few years later where my first foray into fantasy writing had somehow managed to do, well, rather well, and I wondered if perhaps I might dust those elemental words off and give them a go.
